Strategic Advisor

Background
Our university is embarking on a transformative journey to enhance our academic programs, improve campus infrastructure, and strengthen our position in the education sector. We have developed a comprehensive master plan that outlines our vision, objectives, and action steps. We require the expertise of a strategic advisor to help us navigate the complexities of implementation and ensure the realization of our strategic objectives.

The University was founded in 1865 to give the newly emancipated freedman an opportunity for education of the mind in an ethical, religious environment. A historically black university, Virginia Union University embraces the uniqueness and contributions of the African Diaspora, celebrating the value of cultural and intellectual diversity. However, enrollment is open to all students without regard to racial background.

Work Details
The strategic advisor will be responsible for collaborating with university leadership to review and refine the existing master plan, conducting research and analysis to identify emerging trends and best practices in higher education, advising on legal matters related to land use, zoning, permits, and regulatory requirements, exploring funding options including public-private partnerships (P3s), overseeing the implementation of Master Plan initiatives, establishing a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework, engaging with university stakeholders and fostering partnerships with external organizations and agencies.

Period of Performance
The proposal submission deadline is May 1, 2024. The evaluation and shortlisting are scheduled for May 15, 2024. The final selection is expected by June 17, 2024.

The contract will be performed at Virginia Union University's campus located at 1500 N. Lombardy St., Richmond, Virginia, 23220.
