Security Service for Hampton and Peninsula - VDH-24-034-0196

Background
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is seeking security services to provide professional uniformed services for the protection of state employees during regular office hours for the Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts. The purpose is to establish a contract to provide security services for the entire Peninsula Health District and Hampton Health District.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide two professional, uniformed security officers for on-site security at both locations during normal business hours for the protection of clients, visitors, and state employees. The services include providing daily security services five days per week, between specific hours, with one armed guard and one unarmed guard at each location. The contractor is responsible for all required licensure, permits, training, continuing education, including registration with VA DCJS.
The guards are expected to perform various duties including patrolling the premises inside and outside every hour, monitoring security cameras, maintaining a daily visitor log, and summoning appropriate assistance as needed from law enforcement and emergency services agencies. The guards must also be able to deal with difficult or disorderly persons and remove them from the premises if necessary.

Period of Performance
The period of the contract will be from the date of last signature through one year, with the option for renewal based on funds and contract compliance.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at two locations: Peninsula Health District located at 836 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, Suite A, Newport News, VA 23601 and Hampton Health District located at 3130 Victoria Boulevard, Hampton, VA 23661.
