SCADA Radio System Upgrade

Background
The City of Galax is seeking sealed proposals from qualified firms to upgrade the existing SCADA radio system. The goal of this contract is to enhance the city's capabilities in monitoring and controlling water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring efficient operations and improved service delivery.

The City aims to transition from outdated phone line telemetry to a modern, operable SCADA radio system that meets current technological standards.

Work Details
Respondents will be responsible for providing comprehensive services including engineering, system design, configuration, equipment supply, testing, training, and startup services necessary for a complete SCADA radio system upgrade. The project involves the integration of five sites: two pump stations and three tanks.

The successful firm will conduct radio system integration planning and design, evaluate existing automation requirements, provide installation documents, and ensure proper installation with testing to meet operational requirements. Additionally, the firm must provide SCADA RTU equipment that is fully constructed, wired, and tested prior to delivery. The equipment must include necessary antenna equipment and cabling for installation at tank sites (providing tank level monitoring) and pump stations (providing pump status/control).

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for the period of performance is within a few months following the award of the contract, which is expected to occur within thirty days after the proposal deadline on December 19, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the city limits of Galax, Virginia at various sites including two pump stations and three tanks.
