RRJA Chiller OverHaul

Background
The Riverside Regional Jail Authority (RRJA) is a direct supervision jail serving seven localities in Virginia, including Charles City, Chesterfield, Prince George, Surry, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg.

The facility includes a Pre-Release/Work-Release Center and a Main Jail. The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to solicit sealed bids from qualified contractors for the overhaul of a Trane CVHE500 Centrifugal Chiller at the Riverside Regional Jail Authority.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a complete turnkey overhaul of one Trane CVHE500 Centrifugal Chiller. This includes:
1) Removal and disposal of old equipment;
2) Installation of all OEM parts necessary for the overhaul;
3) Refrigerant removal and replacement per applicable law;
4) Dismantling of the centrifugal compressor;
5) Refrigerant analysis;
6) Inspection and verification of components against Trane specifications;
7) Cleaning and inspection of lubrication systems;
8) Installation of new compressor motor bearings;
9) Speed balancing the rotor and impellers;
10) Reassembly with new gaskets;
11) Start-up and operation check by a certified technician;
12) Five-year warranty on parts and labor for the compressor and replaced components.

Additional options include replacing oil pump and motor, performing vibration analysis, chiller evacuation, and leak testing. The contractor must ensure that all work meets industry standards.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence within ten calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Riverside Regional Jail Authority located at 500 FOLAR Trail, North Prince George, Virginia.
