RFQ Q004096 Gate Station Bypass Line Fabrication and Installation of New Pipe Section

Background
The City of Danville, Virginia, is seeking quotes for the fabrication and installation of a new 4-inch steel pipe section for the Gate Station Bypass Line. This project is part of the city's efforts to maintain and improve its water and gas utility services. The goal is to ensure that the new piping can handle a pressure of 750 psi and meets all necessary safety and quality standards.

Work Details
The contract involves the following tasks:

1. Fabrication of pipe and fittings for the Gate Station bypass above ground piping, including approximately 10 feet of 4-inch steel pipe.

2. Final field welded connection of the new bypass piping to existing infrastructure.

The required materials include:
- 1 ANSI 600 4” weld neck flange
- 2 ANSI 600 weld neck flanges
- 2 ANSI 600 blind flange plates
- 2 ANSI 600 elbows
- 1 ANSI 600 FP weld-in ball valve
- 2 ANSI 600 ball valves.

All welds must pass a 100% X-Ray inspection with documentation, and an eight-hour pressure test at pressures between 2225-2250 psi must also be documented. A mandatory site visit is required to obtain exact measurements for proper alignment before submitting a quote.

The work is expected to commence following the acceptance of quotes on April 3, 2025, with specific timelines to be determined based on project requirements.
