Background
New Kent County Public Schools (NKCPS) is located in central Virginia, approximately ten miles east of Richmond. NKCPS has one high school, one middle school, three elementary schools, a vehicle maintenance facility, and an operations warehouse, serving an enrollment of around 3,500 students.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals from qualified sources to establish a term contract for architectural and related services on an as-needed basis to support NKCPS's capital improvement program.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide general architectural and engineering services as needed, including but not limited to:
- Architectural design services for new construction, alterations, renovations, and small projects.
- Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Structural Engineering services.
- Project evaluation and planning.
- Handicapped accessibility assessments.
- Facilities requirements and utilization studies.
- Feasibility studies for new and renovation projects.
- Preparation of reports, preliminary documents, working drawings, specifications, and construction estimates.

All work must comply with applicable state and local regulations including the Virginia Department of Education Design Guide and the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be from January 1, 2025 to January 1, 2026, with options to renew for four additional one-year periods upon mutual written consent.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within New Kent County.
