RFP 24-25-112 Danville Airport Construction Services

Background
The City of Danville is seeking a Construction Management Firm to provide construction administration and inspection services at the Danville Regional Airport. This initiative aims to support various airport improvement projects over the next six fiscal years, enhancing aviation facilities and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Work Details
The selected firm will be responsible for:

1. Assisting with pre-bid conferences and bid openings, attending progress meetings as required.
2. Reviewing and monitoring construction schedules.
3. Conducting preconstruction conferences.
4. Providing resident project representatives (full-time and part-time) to monitor and document construction progress, ensuring conformance with schedules, plans, and specifications.
5. Reviewing and negotiating change orders as required.
6. Preparing and submitting inspection reports.
7. Confirming monthly payment requests submitted by the general contractor.
8. Conducting necessary material and quality control testing.
9. Conducting final project inspections and identifying punch list work items with airport personnel, FAA, Virginia Department of Aviation, and the airport engineering firm.
10. Preparing record drawings and as-built drawings in AutoCAD format along with the final project report.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed for one year with an option for three one-year renewals.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have expertise related to aviation projects, including prior experience in airport improvement projects, planning, design, and construction management services for airside and landside facilities. They must also demonstrate knowledge of FAA regulations, policies, procedures, and have a track record of working with governmental agencies on similar projects.
