RFP 24-25-076 Landscaping Services for Danville Utilities Department

Background
The City of Danville Utilities Department is seeking a vendor to provide landscaping services across multiple sites, including substations and administrative locations. The goal of this contract is to maintain the aesthetic and functional aspects of these utility sites, ensuring they are well-kept and safe for operations.

Work Details
The contractor will perform landscaping services at fifteen substations, twenty-seven regulator sites, one co-location building, one propane site, and four administrative sites. Specific tasks include:
- Mowing grass
- String trimming
- Shrub trimming
- Spraying herbicide for weed control
- Bushhogging

The work will be conducted on an as-needed basis, typically twice per month during the mowing season. The contractor must clear the mowing area of all trash and debris before mowing. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for supervising their employees to ensure compliance with safety regulations and applicable laws. A City of Danville business license and a certificate of insurance are required from the contractor.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from March 1, 2025 through February 28, 2026, with options for renewal for two additional years upon mutual agreement.

Landscaping services will be performed at various locations in Danville, Virginia including:
- 15 substations
- 27 regulator sites
- A co-location building at 295 Stinson Dr.
- An engineering building at 1113 Goodyear Blvd.
- Gas regulator sites and propane station
- Service center at 1040 Monument St.
- Warehouse at 864 Monument St.
