RFP 23-24-086 Salt and Sand Dome Roof Replacement

Background
The City of Danville is seeking a Virginia-licensed contractor for the Public Works Salt and Sand Dome Roof Replacement project located at 998 South Boston Rd., Danville, VA 24540. The project aims to replace the roofs of the Salt Dome (roughly 10,500 Sq/ft) and Sand Dome (roughly 6,500 Sq/ft). The work must conform to the Virginia Uniform Building Code.

Work Details
The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, permits, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for the roof replacement. This includes removing existing shingles and materials down to the roof deck, re-nailing any loose wood, replacing bad or rotten sheathing and structural roof members, installing an ice and water barrier on the entire structure, installing new flashing at various points, installing new shingles with a minimum 25-year warranty, replacing the existing roof vent system with like-kind materials, and providing a dumpster for debris removal.
The job site must be thoroughly cleaned daily to minimize punctured tires due to high traffic in the area.

Period of Performance
The contract requires completion within sixty (60) calendar days from the start date. Liquidated damages of two hundred dollars ($200) per calendar day may be imposed for delays.
