Background
The Shenandoah County Public Schools (SCPS) is committed to providing modern and adaptable learning environments. To achieve this, the SCPS maintains a five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) that outlines necessary projects for maintaining, renovating, and enhancing educational properties. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified and licensed Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firms to provide comprehensive A/E services related to the Approved CIP.

Work Details
The selected A/E firm will be responsible for providing a range of services including:

1. Design services for renovations and/or additions to existing schools/buildings.
2. Design services for future school buildings.
3. Evaluations, analysis, recommendations, cost and time estimates, reports, schematic designs, preliminary or final designs, feasibility studies, field inspections, on-site investigations, and code compliance investigations.
4. Structural engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, acoustical expertise, sports field/track renovation expertise, parking lot design, ADA requirements compliance, and FFE design services.
5. Hazardous material identification abatement and restoration specification services.
6. Surveying services and environmental reviews including site assessments and construction inspection services.
7. Bidding and construction administration services including submission of necessary construction documents to governmental agencies for review and approval.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term will be one year with the possibility of up to three additional one-year renewals based on mutual agreement between the parties.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed within Shenandoah County Public Schools facilities located in Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be fully qualified and licensed A/E firms capable of providing the required services as outlined in the RFP. They must also comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing these services.
