RFP 2025-32-VPA SWVA Inland Port Economic Impact Study

Background
The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to develop an economic impact study regarding the potential construction of an inland port in the southwest region of Virginia.
This initiative aims to assess the economic implications of such a development, which is crucial for accommodating the anticipated growth in business at the Port of Virginia, currently the third largest general cargo port on the US East Coast.

Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive economic impact study that includes:
- Analyzing current economic conditions in Southwest Virginia.
- Estimating potential job creation and economic growth resulting from the inland port.
- Evaluating infrastructure needs and impacts on local communities.
- Assessing environmental considerations related to the construction and operation of the inland port.
- Providing recommendations based on findings to guide decision-making by VPA.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for a duration of one (1) year, commencing upon award.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily take place in the southwest region of Virginia.
