QB 24-25-093 Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History Mowing and Grounds Maintenance - REBID

Background
The City of Danville, Virginia, is seeking a contractor to provide mowing and grounds maintenance services for the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History. The goal of this contract is to ensure the upkeep and aesthetic quality of the museum grounds, which includes various properties associated with the museum. This contract is part of the Public Works Department's efforts to maintain public spaces effectively.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for mowing and grounds maintenance at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History. The scope includes:

1. Regular mowing and trimming of lawns, cleaning sidewalks and parking lots on a weekly basis from April through October (approximately 26 mows).
2. Leaf removal during November through January (approximately 13 leaf removals).
3. Weekly cleanings from February through March (approximately 13 cleanings).
4. Weed control on sidewalks and parking lots every two months during the growing season (4 applications per year).
5. Hand pulling weeds or spot spraying in landscape beds monthly during the growing season (8 times per year).
6. Edging sidewalks and curbs three times a year (May, July, September).
7. Pruning shrubs once a year in February or March.
8. Irrigation system maintenance twice a year (November, March), excluding materials needed for repairs which will be billed separately.
9. Hand watering new plantings as needed during summer months (approximately 5 times per year).
10. Replacement of dead plants with new ones as needed (40 quart container plantings, 20 one-gallon container plantings, 10 three to five-gallon container shrub plantings annually).
11. Application of dyed brown mulch to landscape beds once a year in spring (approximately 80 yards).
12. Aeration and overseeding of lawns once a year in September.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for three years with an option for two one-year extensions if agreed upon by both parties at least 60 days prior to the end date.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History located at 975 Main St, Danville, VA, including additional properties such as an art studio off Magruders Alley and another property at 126 Sutherlin Ave.
