Professional Services for New Middle School Build

Background
The Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) is seeking proposals for professional Architectural and Engineering (A&E) services for the construction of a new middle school. The Department of Facility Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for the design and construction of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for SCPS, ensuring that facilities are planned, designed, constructed, and operated within budget.

The project aims to develop a multi-story middle school with a capacity of 1,100 seats by August 2028.

Work Details
The selected A&E firm will provide complete architectural design and engineering services for the new middle school. The scope includes:
1. Consultation, Investigation, and Report;
2. Preliminary Design;
3. Design Development;
4. Delivery of 100% Construction Documents by January 15, 2026;
5. Coordination with a Construction Manager Agency (CMA);
6. Review and update of SCPS’ Middle School Education Specifications and Facility Design Guidelines.

- Environmental
- Civil Design Services
- Low Voltage Systems
- Data and Telephone Systems
- Security Systems
- Preparation of Municipal and Regulatory Permits
- Cost Estimates
- Contract Administration
- Transportation Planning
- Utility Coordination
- Land Surveying
- Interior Design Services
- Acoustical Engineering
- Fire Protection Systems including Fire Suppression and Alarm systems.
This list may not be exhaustive but represents comprehensive A&E services necessary for the public-school facility's design and development.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will continue until final completion and closeout of the project, expected by August 2028.

Place of Performance
The location for the new middle school has not yet been finalized; however, three potential sites are under consideration in Stafford County, Virginia.
