Powhatan HS HVAC and Controls Replacement

Background
The Powhatan County Public Schools Facilities Department is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the HVAC and Controls Replacement project at Powhatan High School. The goal of this project is to enhance the school's HVAC systems, ensuring a comfortable and efficient environment for students and staff.

The work will involve significant upgrades to the existing systems, which are critical for maintaining air quality and temperature control within the school.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1) Full building controls replacement;
2) Replacement of 8 rooftop units;
3) Replacement of 7 pumps;
4) Installation of all general duty rooftop exhaust fans;
5) Provision of 2 indoor transfer fans;
6) Removal of existing ductwork and fans that are being replaced;
7) Testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of all systems at Powhatan High School;
8) Structural reinforcement as per structural drawings;
9) Installation of all necessary electrical modifications to support the new systems.

The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with school operations to minimize disruption during construction.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to commence on December 1, 2024, with substantial completion expected by August 8, 2025. Final completion is required within 30 calendar days following substantial completion.

Specific breaks during the school year (Winter Break: Dec 24 - Jan 3; Spring Break: Mar 31 - Apr 4; Summer Break: Jun 3 - Aug 1) will be observed, with work hours limited to after-school hours (3 PM - 8 PM) while school is in session.

The contract work will take place at Powhatan High School located at 1800 Judes Ferry Rd, Powhatan, VA.
