Pocahontas Building Demolition, PC #194-18537-002

Background
The Pocahontas Building Demolition project is initiated by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of General Services. The goal of this contract is to safely demolish the existing Pocahontas Building located in Richmond, VA, in accordance with specified plans and specifications. The project aims to clear the site for future development while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition of the Pocahontas Building, including but not limited to: disconnecting all utility services from the existing building, cutting and capping dry utilities a minimum of 5 feet from the face of the building, removing building overhangs and exterior columns, and ensuring that all interior non-structural features are removed.

The contractor must also provide exterior weatherproofing for structures that remain, coordinate with utility owners for proper removal and abandonment processes, and maintain access to fire hydrants during all phases of construction. Additionally, record drawings must be provided to the engineer for all demolished utilities.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to last until the completion of demolition activities as outlined in the project specifications.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Pocahontas Building located at 900 E. Main St., Richmond, VA.

Bidder Requirements
Bids will only be accepted from companies pre-qualified under eVA Solicitation RFPQ-92272. Bidders must have a Virginia State License (2705-041243A) and comply with all local regulations regarding demolition work.
