Pittsylvania County Solid Waste Phase 3

Background
The Pittsylvania County Solid Waste Phase 3 project is initiated by Pittsylvania County, Virginia. It aims at constructing a new cell at the Pittsylvania County Sanitary Landfill located at 382 Rainbow Lane, Dry Fork, VA. This project is part of the county's efforts to enhance waste management infrastructure and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Erosion and Sedimentation Controls;
- Site Preparation;
- Unclassified Excavation;
- Placement of Structural Fill;
- Culvert Installation;
- Subtitle D Liner System Construction;
- Leachate Collection and Conveyance System Construction;
- Gravel Access Roads;
- Revegetation;
- Stormwater Conveyance Channels.

The project will also involve various technical specifications including site work, mechanical systems, and quality assurance plans as detailed in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be substantially completed within 240 days and fully completed and ready for final payment within 260 days from the start date.

The work will be performed at the Pittsylvania County Sanitary Landfill located at 382 Rainbow Lane, Dry Fork, VA 24549.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a Responsible Land Disturber Certificate (RLD) and demonstrate experience with landfill Subtitle D liner systems and leachate collection systems. They are required to have completed at least two Subtitle D liner projects totaling 500,000 square feet within the last five years. Additionally, bidders must provide bid security of 5% of their maximum bid price.
