Parking Lot Improvements

Background
Appomattox County is soliciting bids for parking lot improvements at the Appomattox Community Park located at 387 Elk Creek Road, Appomattox, Virginia. This is a modification and rebid of a similar project solicited in August 2023.

Work Details
The scope of services includes paving the existing gravel overflow parking lot and extending the existing paved parking lot. The contractor is responsible for laying out pavement dimensions, parking spaces, and drive lanes to achieve a minimum of forty new parking spaces, as well as modifying the limits of the existing asphalt parking lot.
The project also involves installing additional piping and grading a new entrance radius, supplying stone and compaction to achieve a minimum of six-inch compacted base uniformly across the areas to be paved, paving the project area with SM-9.5A asphalt two inches thick, grading and permanently seeding and strawing the perimeter of the new pavement area, striping all parking spaces, handicap spaces, access aisles, and traffic control markings according to the plan approved by the County prior to construction.

Period of Performance
The project activities are required to be completed by June 30, 2024, in preparation for hosting eighteen ball teams for the Dixie Youth Virginia Diamond Youth Baseball State Tournament from July 5th – 12th, 2024.
