P69_2025 On-Call Guardrail Hit & Repair Contract

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Transportation (VDOT), is issuing the P69_2025 On-Call Guardrail Hit & Repair Contract. This contract aims to provide timely repair and maintenance services for guardrails across various locations in the Hampton Roads district, ensuring safety and compliance with transportation standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various tasks related to guardrail installation and repair, including but not limited to:
- Installation of temporary silt fence, agricultural base material, manual shoulder restoration, concrete impact attenuator pads, and Texas T-6 railing.
- Installation of salvaged guardrails and new guardrails (GR-MGS1, GR-MGS1A, GR-MGS1 9' post, radial guardrails).
- Installation of guardrail terminals (GR-MGS2) and end anchorage (GR-MGS3).
- Removal of existing guardrails and installation of new components such as impact attenuators and various types of guardrail beams.
- Maintenance tasks including resetting existing guardrails and hand digging for utilities.

The work will also include mobilization for on-call task orders based on the urgency of repairs needed.

Period of Performance
The contract period is set to commence upon award and is expected to be completed by August 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will take place at various locations within the Hampton Roads district of Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet prequalification requirements as specified by VDOT. The contract may involve subcontracting; however, no portion shall be subcontracted without written consent from the Engineer unless it falls under specific financial thresholds. Bidders are also required to comply with SWAM (Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned Business) participation requirements.
