P63_2025_On-Call Guardrail Repair

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Transportation (VDOT), is issuing a contract for On-Call Guardrail Repair services. The purpose of this contract is to provide timely and efficient repair services for guardrails across various locations in Prince William County, Northern Virginia. This initiative aims to enhance road safety and ensure that guardrails are maintained in optimal condition to protect motorists.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. **Guardrail Installation and Maintenance**: This includes the installation of various types of guardrails such as GR-MGS1, GR-MGS1A, GR-2, and GR-10 among others. Specific quantities include 670 LF of GUARDRAIL GR-MGS1, 100 LF of GUARDRAIL GR-MGS1A, and additional items as detailed in the bid proposal.

2. **Removal of Existing Guardrails**: The contractor will remove existing guardrails as specified, including 3,200 LF of existing guardrail (rail only) and 50 existing guardrail terminals.

3. **Concrete Work**: Tasks include the installation of concrete pads for impact attenuators and other related concrete work as specified in the proposal.

4. **Traffic Control Measures**: Implementation of traffic control measures during construction activities, including flagging services and installation of channelizing devices.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by June 22, 2026.

Place of Performance
Work will be performed at various locations within Prince William County, Northern Virginia.
