On-Call Snow Removal Equipment Services

Background
The City of Petersburg, Virginia, is seeking bids for On-Call Snow Removal Equipment Services to support its operations during winter weather events. The City aims to establish a contract with qualified contractors who can provide emergency snow and ice removal services on an as-needed basis.

The City has jurisdiction over more than 23 square miles and requires reliable services to ensure public safety during unpredictable winter conditions.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary equipment and experienced operators for snow removal and road clearing services as specified in the contract. Services include:
1. Furnishing equipment described in Attachment I along with operators for operational services.
2. Payment will be based on hourly rates listed in Attachment A for active operational services, with a standby rate of 50% applicable when requested to be on standby prior to or during weather events.
3. Equipment must include:
- Single axle/flatbed dump trucks (greater than 3 tons) with plows and spreaders.
- Multi-axle dump trucks (5 tons or greater) with plows and spreaders.
4. Operators must report to designated locations within 3 hours of notification and comply with all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate safety attire.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period is two years from the commencement date, with options for one-year renewals at the City's discretion. The City reserves the right to extend the contract for up to 12 months if deemed advantageous.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within the City of Petersburg limits.
