Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) - RFA 5 - Virginia Department of Veterans Services - SOS Grant

Background
The Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) is issuing this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for the Suicide Prevention and Opioid Addiction Services (SOS) Project Grant. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive suicide prevention and opioid addiction services for Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF) in Virginia. The program is funded by general funds earmarked by the General Assembly of Virginia through the Appropriations Act, with a total of $4,000,000 available for community grants. DVS is tasked with collaborating with various organizations to develop effective programs addressing these critical issues.

Work Details
The scope of work under this grant must focus on providing suicide prevention and/or opioid addiction services specifically for SMVF in one or more of the following categories:

- Women Veterans
- Homeless Veterans
- Opioid Addiction
- Justice Involved individuals
- Caregiver Support
- Financial Stability/Literacy

Each applicant may submit only one response per agency. The maximum award amount is $150,000 for a one-year period, with the possibility of a second year based on funding availability.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from April 1, 2025, through May 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be provided throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Eligible applicants include any state, local, private, non-profit, for-profit organizations or sole proprietors. Applicants must register at https://grants.dvs.virginia.gov/index.do to access the grants application and obtain a unique entity identifier (UEI) number via Sam.gov.
