NH North Landing Fence Project

Background
The North Landing River Natural Area Preserve (NLR NAP) is a 3,441-acre preserve located in Virginia Beach, managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) – Division of Natural Heritage (DNH).
The purpose of this contract is to install a chain-link fence to separate private property from the preserve, funded by a grant from the Department of Environmental Quality CZM grant.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Remove all brush necessary for fence installation, ensuring no trees larger than three inches in diameter are removed without approval.
2. Install approximately 740 linear feet of five-foot tall, galvanized, commercial-grade chain-link fence with one 36-inch gate at a designated location.
3. Use American-made materials to the greatest extent possible and secure fence posts with concrete.
4. Verify all measurements and locations before installation.
5. Mark utilities and be responsible for any damage caused during work.
6. Ensure all materials are new and in good condition, installed according to manufacturer specifications.
7. Notify Preserve Stewards upon project completion for inspection.

Period of Performance
The contract work shall be completed within 60 days of award, with a final completion date no later than November 30, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the North Landing River Natural Area Preserve located at 4870 Blackwater Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23457.
