N39_2026 Safety Improvements

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing a contract for safety improvements along Route 11 in Pulaski County.
The project aims to enhance safety measures in the specified area, which extends from 0.17 miles south of Warden Ct. to 0.12 miles north of Warden Ct.
This initiative is part of VDOT's ongoing efforts to improve roadway safety and infrastructure.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various construction tasks including:
- Permanent Stormwater Management Facility (Lump Sum)
- Clearing and Grubbing (Lump Sum)
- Installation of various sizes of concrete pipes (15", 18", 30") and end sections
- Drop inlets and manholes installation
- Regular excavation, borrow excavation, and embankment work
- Temporary diversion dikes and check dams
- Siltation control measures including temporary silt fences
- Asphalt concrete placement including various types and grades
- Guardrail installation and related components
- Traffic control measures including signage and channelizing devices.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by October 2, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will take place along Route 11 in Pulaski County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet prequalification requirements set by VDOT.
They are required to submit a bid electronically through Bidx, provide a bid bond conforming to specified regulations, and ensure compliance with all federal wage requirements as outlined in the Davis-Bacon Act.
