Background
The Prince William County Government (PWC) is seeking a contractor to provide moving services for office relocations and elections equipment. The goal of this contract is to ensure efficient and effective relocation of office furniture, equipment, and election materials as needed, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Work Details
The contractor shall provide the following services:
1) Office Moving Services including management, supervision, labor, materials, and equipment;
2) Planning, scheduling, and coordinating services to meet County satisfaction;
3) Teardown of systems furniture;
4) Provision of necessary moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, cradles, loading ramps, rigging, and trucks;
5) Safe transit of County property with crating and padding materials;
6) Transportation capabilities for moving furniture within County facilities;
7) Clean warehouse space for storage of office furniture and records retention;
8) Attendance at pre-move meetings by the Contractor’s Project Manager;
9) Provision of commercial moving boxes or crates;
10) Labor for disassembling furniture prior to moves;
11) Special care in transporting file cabinets;
12) Maintenance of a clean work area during the move process;
13) Color-coded labels for property identification during moves;
14) Notification to the County in case of damage to property or personnel during the move.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed on an as-needed basis over the duration specified in task orders or purchase orders issued by the County.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Prince William County facilities and may include transportation to various polling locations throughout the county.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a Class A General Contractor License in Virginia. The contractor must maintain a DC Metro area office open during normal business hours. All employees must be legally employed and on the contractor's payroll. The contractor's Project Manager must have at least five years of experience in commercial moving. The Project Supervisor must have at least three years of experience in commercial moving. Compliance with insurance requirements including general liability, automobile liability, cargo insurance, and workers' compensation is mandatory.
