Description

The purpose of this Unsealed Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit unsealed proposals to establish a contract through competitive negotiation for the purchase of medical provider oversight services for student health operations at Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center also referred to as WWRC .
Background
The Wilson Workforce Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is a state-operated vocational training center for individuals with disabilities, located in Fishersville, VA. It operates under the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). The center serves clients aged 18 and older, providing vocational training and support. The goal of this contract is to establish medical provider oversight services for student health operations at WWRC, ensuring that the health clinic can effectively serve its clients.

Work Details
The contractor will provide medical oversight services including:

1) Clinical oversight for RN/LPN staff;
2) Signing off on OTC medication standing orders;
3) Authorizing routine waived testing by nursing staff;
4) Signing off on emergency treatment protocols;
5) Providing orders for physical or occupational therapy as needed;
6) Conducting pre-admission medical reviews for complex cases;
7) Providing up to 12 hours of in-person hours per week for direct client care or clinical oversight;
8) Documenting dates and hours worked with each invoice;
9) Prescribing routine medications as appropriate;
10) Referring clients to hospitals or specialists as needed;
11) Providing an alternate medical provider during absences, approved by WWRC; and
12) Ensuring compliance with all healthcare standards and laws.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on the date of award and will last for one year, with four optional one-year renewal periods.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Wilson Workforce Rehabilitation Center located at 243 Woodrow Wilson Avenue, Fishersville, VA.

Bidder Requirements
Offerors must be licensed as a Medical Doctor (MD) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Virginia with a minimum of five years of experience. They must also be registered in eVA to respond to this RFP. No subcontracting is allowed.
