Main Hall Interior Renovation

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking architectural and engineering (A/E) services for the interior renovations of the Main Hall building at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind (VSDB) campus. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the Main Hall, aligning with the agency's mission to provide quality education and services to students with disabilities.

Work Details
The A/E services required under this contract include:
- Planning and designing architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical components of the renovation project.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, including the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) and other regulatory requirements.
- Providing detailed construction documents that include plans, specifications, and any necessary revisions to meet budget constraints.
- Conducting cost estimates at each design phase to ensure alignment with the 'Design-not-to-exceed' budget set by the Owner.
- Coordinating with subcontractors who possess necessary expertise in their respective fields.
- Managing any changes or modifications during construction through Change Orders as needed.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be determined upon award but is expected to span several months from project initiation through completion of renovations.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed on-site at the Main Hall building located at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind campus.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be properly registered and licensed in Virginia as required by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) through the APELSCIDLA Board. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of professional liability insurance covering acts, errors, and omissions related to their services.
