M25_2025 Sgr - Superstructure Replacement

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Transportation (VDOT), is issuing a contract for the M25_2025 SGR - Superstructure Replacement project.
This project aims to replace the superstructure of a bridge located on Route 61 in Tazewell County, Bristol District.
The goal is to enhance transportation infrastructure and ensure safety for road users.

Work Details
The contract involves the following key tasks:
1. Regular Excavation: Approximately 89 cubic yards.
2. Dewatering Basin EC-8: 4 units.
3. Siltation Control Excavation: 51 cubic yards.
4. Temporary Silt Fence Type A: 300 linear feet.
5. Aggregate Material No. 1: 65 tons.
6. Aggregate Base Material Type I No. 21B: 50 tons.
7. Asphalt Concrete Type SM-12.5A Construction: 74 tons.
8. Asphalt Concrete BM-25.0: 26 tons.
9. Saw-Cut Asphalt Concrete Full Depth: 100 linear feet.
10. Select Backfill Abutment Zone: 52 tons.
11. Cofferdam: 3 units.
12. Pipe Underdrain (6" Maintenance): 100 linear feet.
13. Structure Excavation Maintenance: 112 cubic yards.
14. Concrete Class A4 Mod Low Shrinkage for Structural Maintenance: Approximately 99.3 cubic yards.
15. Bridge Deck Grooving for Maintenance: Approximately 194 square yards.
16. Reinforced Steel Class I for Structural Maintenance and Construction, with quantities specified in pounds for various applications including splicers and railings.

Period of Performance
The contract period of performance begins upon award and is expected to be completed by September 3, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations along Route 61, specifically from approximately 11.80 miles from Route 177 to approximately 3.2 miles from Route 614 in Tazewell County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet prequalification requirements set by VDOT and are required to submit a DBE participation plan as part of their bid proposal.
