Louisa County Airport Parking Lot Paving LKU-26-01

Background
The County of Louisa, Virginia, is inviting qualified contractors to submit bids for improvements to the parking lot and surrounding areas at the Louisa County Airport.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the airport's facilities located at 335 Industrial Drive, Louisa, Virginia 23117.

Work Details
The project involves several key tasks as outlined in the Engineering Documents. The work includes:
1. Cold milling (2”) - 1800 square yards
2. Unclassified excavation - 450 cubic yards
3. Temporary pavement marking - 400 square yards
4. Permanent pavement marking - 400 square yards
5. Traffic drums - 10 units
6. Aggregate base course (VDOT 21A) - 850 tons
7. Asphalt concrete pavement (SM-12.5A SUPERPAVE) - 720 tons
8. Non-woven geotextile fabric - 100 square yards
9. Miscellaneous demolition - 1 lump sum
10. Provide and install access gate loop detectors - 2 units
11. Overlay geotextile fabric (6 oz.) - 200 square feet
12. Bumper blocks - 25 units
13. Remove, realign, reinstall chain-link fence and sliding gate - 140 linear feet
14. Remove T-hangar Gate Security Access Point - 1 lump sum.
All work must be performed in accordance with the provided plans titled 'Additional Paving Construction Phases' dated June 17, 2025, with revisions noted.

Period of Performance
The project must reach substantial completion within 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Louisa County Airport located at 335 Industrial Drive, Louisa, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be authorized to transact business in Virginia as a domestic or foreign business entity as required by the State Corporation Commission. Additionally, bidders must provide a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid amount and performance and payment bonds upon award of the contract.
