LCPS CTE Center Structured Cabling RFP

Background
The Louisa County School Board is seeking proposals for the installation of structured cabling for a new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Building. This initiative aims to enhance the educational infrastructure, ensuring that the new building is equipped with modern cabling systems to support advanced educational technologies.

The selected contractor will work closely with the School Board and the appointed General Contractor to integrate the cabling installation into the overall construction schedule, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1) Providing a 5-year warranty for all work and components;
2) Using BICSI-certified installers, with at least one BICSI-certified RCDD responsible for reviewing work;
3) Installing MDF and IDF racks connected to building ground;
4) Installing single-mode armored fiber cables between buildings;
5) Installing Category-6+ cabling with specific requirements for testing, distance, bend radius, and bundling;
6) Ensuring proper labeling of jacks and cables;
7) Delivering as-built documentation including floor plans and test results;
8) Installation of security cameras, TVs, vape sensors, projectors, and access points as specified in the plans.

Additional requirements include maintaining a minimum distance from electrical lines, using Velcro fastening for cable bundles, and following specific color coding for different cable types.

Period of Performance
The installation is scheduled to begin in July 2026 and is expected to be completed by March 2027.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Louisa County High School located at 757 Davis Highway, Mineral, VA 23117.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of BICSI certification for installers. The proposal must include a letter of interest detailing company qualifications, past school projects completed in the last five years, liability claims history, project approach with timelines, references, total project cost including additive alternates, and signed attachments certifying compliance with licensing requirements.
