Landscaping Maintenance Services

Background
The Town of Gordonsville, Virginia is seeking bids for landscape maintenance services for public areas owned and/or controlled by the Town. The goal is to maintain these landscaped areas effectively, ensuring they are well-kept and visually appealing. The successful bidder will be responsible for providing all necessary personnel, labor, equipment, materials, tools, services, and special skills required for this maintenance work. All incidental costs such as fuel, travel, and insurance must be included in the bid amount.

The Town aims to establish a one-year contract starting on November 1, 2024.

Work Details
The landscape maintenance services required include:
- Shrub and small tree care: This involves pruning, trimming, fertilizing, and replanting of shrubs and small trees.
- Annual and/or perennial plant care: Maintenance includes trimming, fertilizing, and planting of perennials and seasonal annuals to provide color for specific occasions like Easter, Mother’s Day, and July 4th.
- Weed, pest and disease control: This entails weeding all landscaped areas and applying herbicides and pesticides as necessary for effective control.
- Mulching: Maintenance of mulched areas in landscaped beds around shrubs and small trees to ensure proper coverage for erosion control and weed inhibition.

The maintenance schedule will be agreed upon by the Town and the landscaper. Areas covered include but are not limited to:
- Town Hall grounds including bio-retention features;
- Cooke Memorial Park adjacent to Town Hall;
- Landscaped area in front of the Gordonsville Business Center;
- Landscaped areas around the Main Street railroad overpass;
- Bed located between railroad tracks and South Main Street in front of the Exchange Hotel;
- Landscaped area within the Town traffic circle;
- Downtown area planting beds along Main Street.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on November 1, 2024, with a duration of one year.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in various public areas within the Town of Gordonsville, Virginia.
