Background
The Science Museum of Virginia is seeking landscape architect services for the design and construction of the East Green, a 5-acre parcel adjacent to the museum. The space is intended to be open to the public and will include native Virginia plantings, outdoor features, public art, interpretation, and special event infrastructure. The selected firm must be authorized to do business in Virginia and have experience in designing outdoor spaces in urban environments.
Work Details
The selected landscape architect shall provide a full range of architectural/engineering (A/E) services for the design and construction of the East Green. This includes refining, clarifying, and defining the project description, developing a preliminary design submission, providing complete construction contract documents, assuring conformance with codes and regulations, developing specifications, preparing erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater management plans, coordinating utility connections, preparing cost estimates, presenting necessary oral and/or graphic presentations to state agencies,
assisting in bidding and award of the construction contract,
providing services for the construction phase,
preparing an environmental impact statement.
Period of Performance
The start date is to be determined with completion by December 31, 2026.

The work will be performed at the Science Museum of Virginia located at 2500 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220.
