L74_2024 Traffic Signal Upgrades

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Transportation (VDOT), is issuing a contract for traffic signal upgrades across various locations in Chesterfield and Brunswick counties. The project aims to enhance traffic management and safety through the installation and modification of traffic signals. This initiative is part of VDOT's ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and ensure efficient traffic flow.

Work Details
The contract includes the following key tasks:
1. Installation of temporary silt fence (325 LF).
2. Saw cutting of high concrete items (50 LF at 4" depth).
3. Installation of hydraulic cement concrete sidewalk (4 SY).
4. Removal and relocation of existing electrical services (3 EA).
5. Installation of cabinets and local controllers (1 EA each).
6. Installation of detection systems (lump sum).
7. Provision of truck-mounted attenuators, channelizing devices, electronic arrow boards, and flagger services as needed for traffic control during construction.
8. Modification of existing signals (lump sum).
9. Mobilization costs.
10. Installation of various signal mast arm poles and foundations, including types D, E1, E2, F, and various lengths (49', 60', 75').
11. Electrical service work including junction boxes, conduits, and conductors for signalization systems.
12. Removal of existing poles and foundations as required.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award with a completion date set for December 5, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within Chesterfield and Brunswick counties in Virginia.
