Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through Christopher Newport University (CNU), is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to establish a contract for kitchen equipment inspection and repair services. CNU, founded in 1960 and recognized as a comprehensive university, aims to maintain its Hobart kitchen equipment in optimal condition to support its dining facilities. The contract will be awarded to a qualified contractor licensed by the State of Virginia, ensuring safety and compliance with all applicable regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, and incidentals necessary for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Hobart kitchen equipment located in specific dining facilities on CNU's campus. Services include:

1) Quarterly inspections and preventative maintenance;
2) Emergency repair services;
3) Use of only manufacturer-recommended parts;
4) Compliance with safety regulations;
5) Maintenance Control Plan creation for each type of equipment;
6) Detailed condition surveys within the first 60 days of the contract;
7) Scheduling of work with the Contract Administrator;
8) Provision of a detailed labor breakdown and list of materials on invoices.

The contractor must ensure that all technicians are experienced in maintaining Hobart equipment and possess necessary licenses or certifications.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period is one year with an option to renew for six successive one-year periods. Work is expected to commence upon contract award.
