Judicial Center Gdc / J&Dr Office Modifications

Background
The Judicial Center General District Court (GDC) and Juvenile & Domestic Relations Courts (J&DR) are undergoing modifications to enhance functionality and accessibility. The project is initiated by Prince William County to improve the operational efficiency of the courts located at 9311 Lee Avenue, Manassas, VA. The modifications aim to facilitate better access for staff and the public while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Work Details
The project involves construction renovations in two phases:

Phase 1 includes reconfiguring an existing multipurpose room on the first floor to allow access from both the chamber’s hallway and the public hallway. This requires relocating an existing door, adding a new door with electronic locking mechanisms, and making minor electrical and mechanical adjustments.

Phase 2 consists of remodeling a storage closet into a restroom for J&DR staff and renovating the GDC Clerks area on the second floor. This renovation includes reconfiguring the intake window, installing an additional restroom directly above the new first-floor restroom, and replacing old workstations to accommodate increased staffing needs.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and is scheduled to be completed within a timeframe specified in the contract documents, with significant milestones outlined for each phase of construction.
