Janitorial Services - DARS Danville Office

Background
The Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) is seeking to establish a term contract with one qualified vendor to provide janitorial cleaning services at its Danville office located at 3280 Riverside Drive, Suite 280, Danville, VA 24541. The goal of this contract is to ensure a clean and sanitary environment for the agency's operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide janitorial services two days a week, specifically on Monday and Thursday after 5 PM EST. The office building encompasses approximately 1,800 square feet, which includes:
- 6 offices
- A reception area with 3 workspaces
- A meeting space
- Hallway
- Small lobby
- 2 restrooms
- A kitchenette

Key performance standards include:
- Surfaces must be dust-free without scattering dust.
- Floors should be free from dust or dirt streaks.
- Restroom facilities must be cleaned thoroughly with no stains or residue.
- The kitchenette must have surfaces wiped down during each visit.
- All trash must be removed from designated containers.

The contractor is responsible for providing their own cleaning products and equipment while ensuring they are safe for the surfaces being cleaned. The agency will supply toilet tissues, paper towels, and liquid soap at no cost to the contractor. Specific tasks include general cleaning of floors and surfaces, restroom services including replenishing supplies and disinfecting fixtures, and periodic cleaning of high surfaces every sixty days.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will commence upon award for one year with four optional one-year renewal periods.

The services will be performed at the DARS Danville Office located at 3280 Riverside Drive, Suite 280, Danville, VA 24541.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific requirements including maintaining a drug-free workplace and adhering to anti-discrimination laws. Contractors are required to have appropriate insurance coverage including workers’ compensation and general liability insurance as specified in the solicitation. Bidders must also be registered in eVA (the Commonwealth's electronic procurement system) and may need to provide evidence of DSBSD certification if applicable.
