Jamestown Settlement Changing Gallery Remodel

Background
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is seeking bids for the renovation and alteration of the Changing Gallery at Jamestown Settlement, located at 2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA. The project aims to prepare the gallery for future exhibits by updating the existing mercantile space into an exhibit area. This includes reinstallation of fire safety devices, modifications to the microclimate layout, and installation of additional lighting and convenience outlets.

Work Details
The scope of work includes: relocating fire alarm devices, adding new lighting fixtures, making layout changes to existing microclimates, replacing floor coverings, and converting the existing mercantile area into exhibit space. The construction will adhere to the 2021 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) and other relevant codes. Specific tasks involve selective demolition as per provided plans, installation of new microclimate piping in rigid copper, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed and must be completed within thirty (30) days after the date of substantial completion. The deadline for submitting bids is set for July 28, 2025.

The work will be performed at Jamestown Settlement located at 2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered vendors in eVA and possess a valid Virginia contractor's license appropriate for the project size (Class A or Class B). A pre-bid conference is mandatory for all bidders on July 14, 2025. Bids must include a completed bid form and may require a bid bond if exceeding $500,000.
