ITB1184, Gadsby's Tavern Complex Roof Replacement Project

The City has issued this Invitation to Bid (ITB) to obtain Bids from qualified Bidders and enter into a Contract for construction services to replace the aging roofs at Gadsby s Tavern Complex, located at 138 North Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, and if exercised by the City, the three (3) outbuildings in the rear courtyard (included as an add-alternate). The project involves removing and replacing the existing wood shingle roofing and standing seam metal/copper roofing over the various buildings within the Complex. This undertaking also includes the installation of metal flashing and applying a cold liquid roof to a designated small area on the East mechanical tower, as specified in the construction drawings and technical specifications (Attachments J-9 and J-10). Additionally, the lighting protection system shall be salvaged and reinstalled. All architectural elements attached to the roofs, including wood cornices, rakes, and dormer wood elements, shall be prepared, primed, and painted.
