ITB No. 26-2952-4JL - Henrico High School Baseball & Softball Field Renovation

Background
The County of Henrico, Virginia is issuing an Invitation to Bid for the renovation of the baseball and softball fields at Henrico High School, located at 302 Azalea Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. The goal of this contract is to enhance the athletic facilities for the school, ensuring they meet modern standards and provide a safe environment for student athletes.

Work Details
The project includes the following key components:

- Demolition of existing fields
- Regrading
- Installation of a synthetic turf playing surface

The softball field will retain its current footprint and dugouts, while the baseball field will have a slightly altered footprint with new dugouts. Both fields will feature new batting cages and bullpens, LED athletic field lighting, and fencing. Site work encompasses demolition, earthwork, grading, stormwater installation, and concrete sidewalks/pads. Infrastructure improvements include stormwater piping and underground BMPs. Compliance with DEQ/USACOE permits and Henrico County POD regulations is required. The contractor is responsible for light pole foundations, wiring, installation of lights, and providing both fields to subgrade.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within 165 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

The work will be performed at Henrico High School located at 302 Azalea Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23227.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific certifications including Direct Contact with Students certification as per Virginia Code § 22.1-296.1(E) regarding criminal background checks for individuals working on school property. Additionally, bidders must adhere to a tobacco-free policy on school property.
