ITB No. 24-2781-11JL - Wilder Middle School Stream Restoration

Background
The Wilder Middle School Stream Restoration project is initiated by the Department of Public Works, County of Henrico, Virginia. The goal of this contract is to restore the stream and surrounding environment along an unnamed tributary to Upham Brook, enhancing ecological stability and addressing flooding issues.

This project is located within the Wilder Middle School campus, specifically near the intersection of Old Sellers Way and Wilkinson Road.

Work Details
The work includes in-stream structure installation, floodplain bench grading, stream bank stabilization, outfall stabilization, seeding, planting, and all necessary incidentals as described in the bidding documents.

Specific tasks include:
- Installation of Toe Wood/Brush Toe
- Construction of Reinforced Soil Lifts
- Installation of Rock/Log Vanes and Rock/Log Sills
- Creation of Cascade Boulder Riffles
- Application of lime and fertilizer for soil enhancement
- Native steep slope seeding and riparian buffer seeding.

The contractor must also manage erosion and sediment control throughout the project.

Period of Performance
The expected Notice to Proceed (NTP) is March 2025. The work schedule will be determined based on project requirements but must adhere to school operational hours to avoid disruptions during drop-off and pick-up times.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Wilder Middle School, located at 6900 Wilkinson Rd, Henrico, VA 23227.
