IFB159892 Bridge Bolts

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB#159892) to procure bridge bolts, nuts, and washers statewide. The goal of this contract is to ensure the availability of these essential components for bridge construction and maintenance, supporting VDOT's mission to provide a safe and efficient transportation system.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish bridge bolts, nuts, and washers according to the specifications outlined in the solicitation. Key specifications include:
- 5/8” diameter bolts conforming to ASTM A307; nuts conforming to ASTM A563; washers conforming to ASTM F844.
- 3/4” diameter bolts conforming to ASTM A449; nuts conforming to ASTM A563DH Heavy Hex; washers conforming to ASTM F436.
- Dome head bridge bolts with a head diameter of 2 ½” and a minimum thickness of 5/16”, featuring four fins under the head and slotted design.
- All items must be galvanized per ASTM A153 standards.
- Minimum purchase order quantity is 100 units, with deliveries required within 90 calendar days of receipt of purchase order. Delivery locations include various districts across Virginia: Bristol, Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Lynchburg, NOVA, Salem, Staunton, and Richmond.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of award with options for four additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed statewide across various districts in Virginia as specified in the purchase orders.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered in eVA (Virginia's electronic procurement system) and comply with all applicable laws including those related to insurance coverage (workers' compensation and general liability). Bidders are also required to certify that they are not debarred from contracting with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
