Provide Hourly Tree Trimming, Brush and Small Tree Removal, Unplanned/on-call within the Burke and Chantilly/Clifton Area Headquarters
Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB #159569) to solicit bids from qualified firms for tree trimming services. The goal of this contract is to provide hourly tree trimming, brush and small tree removal, and unplanned/on-call services within the Burke and Chantilly/Clifton Area Headquarters. This initiative aligns with VDOT's mission to maintain safe and efficient transportation systems across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all supervision, labor, equipment, fuel, and traffic control necessary to perform the following tasks: hourly tree trimming, brush removal, small tree removal, and disposal of all generated debris. Specific requirements include:

- A minimum of one five-person crew capable of commencing work within ten calendar days of award.
- All work must comply with ANSI Z133.1 Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations and other relevant safety standards.
- Equipment required includes a 50 ft bucket truck, brush chipper capable of chipping up to 12-inch diameter limbs, chip-box dump truck, operable saws and pruning tools, traffic control items per the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM), and additional equipment as necessary.
- The contractor must also employ an ISA Certified Arborist available for consultation during the contract term.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of award with four consecutive one-year renewal options.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed in the Burke Area Headquarters located at 12700 Alliance Court, Fairfax, VA 22030 and Chantilly/Clifton Area Headquarters at 14900 Murdock St, Chantilly, VA 20151.
