IFB158946 Animal Carcass Removal and Disposal

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide on-call, as-needed dead animal carcass removal and disposal service on primary and secondary routes within Fairfax County. The contract period is one year from the date of award with four optional one-year renewal periods.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, vehicles, fuel, equipment, traffic control, tools, supplies and incidentals as necessary to remove and properly dispose of dead animal carcasses on VDOT maintained roadways and right of ways. The work shall be performed throughout Fairfax County.
The Contractor shall perform services for specific Fairfax Residency Area Headquarters (AHQs) within the county.
The Contractor shall assign a contact person and provide VDOT with the contact’s name, telephone number, e-mail address.
The Contractor shall also provide sufficient qualified personnel to satisfy the contract objectives at all times.
Safety and Health Standards, Communication, Licensing, Equipment Requirements, Traffic Control, Contractor Requirements, Hours of Work, Response Requirements, and Measurement for Payment are detailed in the specifications/contract requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract period is one year from the date of award with four optional one-year renewal periods.

Place of Performance
The work shall be performed throughout Fairfax County.
