IFB-25-26-031-Citywide Traffic Signal Project

Background
The City of Danville is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the 2025 - 2026 Citywide Traffic Signal Projects.
The project aims to enhance traffic signal systems at three locations: Piedmont Drive at Lowes Drive, Riverside Drive at Barrett Street, and Route 86 (Central Blvd) at Broad Street.
The City is focused on improving traffic management and safety through these upgrades.

Work Details
The contract includes the following work:
1. Location A: Piedmont Drive at Lowes Drive - Cabinet Replacement.
2. Location B: Riverside Drive at Barrett Street - New Signal Installation.
3. Location C: Route 86 (Central Blvd) at Broad Street - Full Signal Replacement.
Specific tasks include the installation of new controller cabinets, conduits, junction boxes, and signal heads, as well as the removal of existing components (except for bored conduits).
The controller cabinet must be an Econolite Cobalt TS2 Type 2 Controller Cabinet P65DD or approved equal, with additional equipment including Econolite controllers, video detection systems, and uninterruptable power supplies specified in the addenda.

Period of Performance
The period of performance varies by location:
- Location A requires 90 days for substantial completion and 110 days for final completion.
- Locations B and C require 240 days for substantial completion and 300 days for final completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Danville, Virginia at three specified locations:
Piedmont Drive & Lowes Drive, Riverside Drive & Barrett Street, and Route 86 (Central Blvd) & Broad Street.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be VDOT pre-qualified to participate in this project.
A bid bond of 5% of the total bid is required upon submission, along with performance and payment bonds totaling 100% of the contract price upon award.
All bidders must register on eVA to submit their bids.
