IFB 24-25-111 Asbestos Abatement and Demolition - 5 Properties

Background
The City of Danville is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 24-25-111 to secure a qualified and licensed contractor for the asbestos abatement and demolition of five properties. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and compliant removal of asbestos materials in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Asbestos abatement at five specified properties: 161 American Legion Blvd, 218 Gretna St, 515 Bradley Rd, 647-649 Monroe St, and 814 North Main St.

2. Demolition of structures as outlined in the Scope of Work document.

All work must comply with the Virginia Uniform Building Code and other applicable regulations. The contractor must provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to complete the project by the specified deadline.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by October 3, 2025.

The work will be performed at five designated properties located in Danville, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

They are required to submit a bid bond of 5% and performance/payment bonds for bids exceeding $100,000. Contractors must be registered with the State Corporation Commission (SCC) if required by Virginia law.
