IFB 24-25-111 Asbestos Abatement and Demolition - 5 Properties

Background
The City of Danville is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 24-25-111 to secure a qualified and licensed contractor for the asbestos abatement and demolition of five properties. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe removal of hazardous materials and the demolition of structures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Asbestos abatement at five specified properties:
- 161 American Legion Blvd
- 218 Gretna St
- 515 Bradley Rd
- 647-649 Monroe St
- 814 North Main St

2. Complete demolition of these properties following the abatement process. All work must conform to the Virginia Uniform Building Code and comply with the City of Danville’s Standard Requirements & Instructions for Bidding. The contractor must ensure proper disposal of all hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence upon contract award and must be completed by October 3, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at five locations within the City of Danville, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide evidence of practical knowledge and financial resources necessary for completing the project. They must possess a valid SCC Number if organized as a corporation or limited liability company. A bid bond of 5% is required, along with performance and payment bonds for bids exceeding $100,000. Bidders must comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding employment practices.
