Background
The City of Danville is seeking a Virginia-licensed contractor for the construction of an 80' x 80' hangar, referred to as Hangar 300. This project aims to enhance the operational capabilities of the Danville Airport, aligning with the city's mission to improve infrastructure and support local economic development.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for constructing an 80' x 80' hangar according to specifications outlined in Section 4 of the IFB document. The project includes site preparation, structural, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work as detailed in the bidding documents. The contractor must adhere to all applicable federal contract provisions and local building codes.

Additionally, the contractor is required to provide a bid bond of 5%, along with performance and payment bonds totaling 100% of the contract amount. The work must be completed within nine months from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages set at $250 per calendar day for delays.

Period of Performance
The contract period is nine months from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

The construction will take place at Danville Airport, located at 424 Airport Dr., Danville, VA 24540.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be Virginia-licensed contractors and are required to submit evidence of practical knowledge and financial resources necessary for completing the project. They must also comply with Davis-Bacon Act wage requirements and provide a drug-free workplace.

Bidders should be registered on eVA for electronic submissions and include their State Corporation Commission number if applicable.
