IFB 24-050-0939 Janitorial Services

Background
The City of Chesapeake is soliciting bids from qualified bidders to establish an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to provide janitorial services for the City of Chesapeake, under the direction of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department at various City facilities and office locations. The City reserves the right to add or remove building locations as needed. The City of Chesapeake is located in southeastern Virginia. The Environmental Services Division is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and healthy environments for City workers who provide multi-dimensional services, and for Chesapeake citizens who use these services.

The division cleans over 1 million square feet of facility spaces on a daily basis, encompassing 150 buildings, including office complexes, libraries, community centers/recreational facilities, police precincts, healthcare facilities, etc. A list of buildings with their approximate square footage of cleaning area in included below this IFB. The buildings date from 1920 to the present.

Work Details
The successful bidder (the “Contractor”) shall furnish all labor, transportation, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to perform the contract in accordance with the requirements outlined in the solicitation document. This includes providing cleaning services specified in the Cleaning Standards outlined in Attachment C and D.

The contractor shall schedule all cleaning to timely provide all requested services at the required frequency without unreasonably disrupting the functions and normal day-to-day operations of the facility. Emergency janitorial services must be provided during non-scheduled hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on scheduled workdays, holidays, and weekends. The contractor shall also provide Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on all chemicals used in the building and stored in the janitor's closet.

Period of Performance
The resulting contract shall be two (2) years from the date of execution with three (3), one (1) year renewal options upon the written mutual agreement of the parties.

Place of Performance
The geographic location(s) where the janitorial services will be performed include various City facilities and office locations under the direction of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
