IFB# 2024-10 Renovation and Adaptive Reuse of Accomac Primary School

Background
The Accomack County Public Schools is seeking bids for the renovation and adaptive reuse of the existing Accomac Primary School. The goal of this contract is to transform the original one-story brick building, constructed around 1932, into a facility that will house the School Board and School Administrative Staff.

The building has been partially vacant since its last use as a primary school in 2001 and is currently utilized for storage. The project aims to restore and repurpose this historical structure located at 23163 Courthouse Ave, Accomac, VA 23001.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision required for the renovation and adaptive reuse of the Accomac Primary School in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications prepared by Dills Architects. Specific tasks include:
- Renovation of approximately 19,000 square feet of existing space.
- Compliance with all relevant codes and standards as outlined in the contract documents.
- Removal of plumbing fixtures complete with all appurtenances, water, waste, and vent piping.
- Installation of new plumbing systems as per specifications.
- Demolition work as indicated in drawings PD101 and MD101.
- Site preparation including any necessary grading or landscaping work as specified in section 329200.
- Installation of specified accessories such as toilet tissue dispensers (double-roll) as per accessory schedule on page A-401.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will commence upon award and is expected to continue until project completion. Specific timelines will be discussed during the pre-bid meeting scheduled for November 12, 2024.

The work will be performed at the Accomac Primary School located at 23163 Courthouse Ave, Accomac, VA 23001.
