IFB# 161-24-Pallet Recycling Services - VA ABC Distribution Center

Background
The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (Virginia ABC) is an independent political subdivision serving the Commonwealth of Virginia, focusing on public safety through the regulation of alcohol sales and consumption. Established in 1934, Virginia ABC has contributed significantly to the state's revenue, supporting various state programs.

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to solicit bids from qualified vendors for pallet recycling services at the Virginia ABC Distribution Center located in Mechanicsville, VA.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, vehicles, tools, parts, and materials necessary to pick up non-repairable or excess pallets and repair and return broken pallets as needed. Services include:

1. Purchasing broken or unusable pallets designated as 'not repairable' by Virginia ABC.
2. Picking up and removing these pallets within one business day of notification.
3. Executing receipts and sales invoices for the sale of such pallets.
4. Arranging transportation and removal of pallets and properly disposing of pallet-related trash at no additional charge.
5. Providing two empty trailers on-site at all times for pallet pick-up operations.
6. Delivering Grade 'A' pallets upon written request within two days of notification.

The contract covers approximately 80% of Virginia ABC's pallets with the remaining 20% managed at their discretion.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from December 16, 2024, through December 15, 2025, with an option for four subsequent one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority Distribution Center located at 7452 Freight Way, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
