Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide Truck-Mounted Hook Lift for delivery statewide. The goal of this contract is to ensure that VDOT has access to reliable and efficient hook lift trucks to support its operations across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a new Class 7 truck-mounted Kargo King Hook Lift cSeven RS-20-160 18 system and deck or approved equal. The equipment must meet the following specifications:

- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): 39,000 lbs
- Wheelbase: minimum 218 inches
- Cab to Axle (CA): minimum 156 inches
- Front Axle Rating: minimum 16,000 lbs with heavy-duty shock absorbers
- Rear Axle Rating: minimum 23,000 lbs with shock absorbers if standard equipment
- Transmission: Allison Rugged Duty 3000 Series automatic or approved equal
- Engine: Diesel, 6 cylinder, Cummins L9 or approved equal with a minimum horsepower of 330.

Additional requirements include a maximum travel speed of 68 MPH, a fuel tank capacity of at least 65 gallons, and various safety features including air brakes and ABS. The contractor must also provide training for VDOT operators and technicians on the operation and maintenance of the equipment.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed for one year from the date of award, with an option to renew for four successive one-year periods.

Place of Performance
Delivery will be statewide to locations specified by VDOT as listed in the attachment labeled 'District Shop Delivery Addresses and Points of Contact'.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate that they have been in the business of producing operational equipment units comparable to the specifications for at least five years. They must provide documentation validating that twenty units of the make and model bid have been sold in the United States within the previous five years. Bidders are also required to submit descriptive product information and comply with warranty requirements which include two years or 2,000 engine hours coverage for complete units.
